We are looking for temporary dog foster carers. You will take care of a dog in your own home for around 6-9 months. All the equipment the dogs needs will be provided and you will receive ongoing support from the Freedom Project team. We couldn't run the Freedom Project without our dedicated volunteers so please get in touch to find out more.
Dogs Trust Freedom Project is a temporary dog fostering service for people fleeing domestic abuse. The service has been running for 16 years and has helped more than 2,000 people to flee domestic abuse. When you foster a dog for the Freedom Project you’re not only helping a dog, you're supporting a family too. We cover all the dog’s food and veterinary bills, and our team will be there for you every step of the way. We are looking for people who are at home during the day and have experience caring for dogs, who can take on a foster dog for around 6-9 months.

We are looking for volunteers who have experiencing caring for dogs, this can include caring for other people's dogs and doesn't necessarily mean you need to have owned your own dog.
The enjoyment of caring for a dog without the lifetime commitment You will be helping a family and their dog to escape from an abusive home Walking a dog is a fantastic way to exercise and keep fit and healthy Dogs are a great talking point and a way to get out and meet new people You’ll receive ongoing advice and support from our friendly and experienced Freedom Project staff Dogs Trust covers all food, expenses and veterinary bills
