Ashford Area Practical Team Volunteer
Kent Wildlife Trust
The Ashford Team is a friendly, enthusiastic team that loves to get stuck in and have a laugh. The team works across various nature reserves in and around Ashford, such as Hothfield Heathlands and Conningbrook Lakes Country Park.
As a volunteer you will help restore rare and important habits, which are home to an incredible number of wildlife. Tasks on these sites include tree coppicing, scrub cutting, building and repairing fences, hay cuts and pulling and cutting invasive species. You will learn practical land management skills. Improve your fitness, increase mental wellbeing through connecting with nature and like-minded people. Full training is given and you’ll only be asked to do work you are comfortable with. Reasonable travel expenses covered. No previous experience required. You should be happy to work outdoors in all weathers (although we do not blame anyone going home because of torrential rain)!

Ideally we would like you to volunteer for 3-6 hours a week, but this can be flexible. We are always happy for you to do more!
