Volunteers needed to support our friendly staff at one-off events and activity sessions for our children with Down's syndrome and their families, all based in Kent. We need people who enjoy working with the community and are willing to get stuck in and lend a hand!
As a charity based in Maidstone working with children and young people with Down's syndrome, we often run community events and activity sessions for children that we need volunteers to support (all based in Kent). These include things such as sports/dance sessions, discos, World Down's Syndrome Day celebrations and so on. They are sometimes regular (such as monthly), however are often one-off events that we need help with. Support would include setting up for the event, supporting the children in activities, possibly running fundraising stalls such as tombolas or craft tables and helping to tidy away at the end. Our events run all across Kent, so no matter where you live there will always be something you can get involved with! We need people who love working with the community and are willing to get stuck in and lend a hand. After all, everyone has the right to live their lives to the fullest of their potential!

We need someone who is a people person, willing to get involved and have a chat with anyone. The nature of our charity means you would often be communicating with, and supporting children and young people with Down's syndrome and their families. We need someone with lots of common sense, not academics!
Working closely with an experienced, friendly team of people; meeting a fantastic bunch of families; and getting to see children and young people enjoying themselves when other opportunities are often not available to them.

Our office is based in Maidstone Community Support Centre, Marsham Street, Kent ME14 1HH. However our events can run anywhere across Kent.
