Trustee roles available to help move the charity forward
We are keen to hear from local people that may be interested in joining our board of Trustees. Our trustees are unpaid, and bring a wealth of experience to the charity. We are particularly keen to hear from people with a finance or leadership background, and those with experience in outdoor or children's education fields. Opportunities exist to help with fundraising, leading the day to day activities at the centre, and training to become a sailing or paddlesport instructor. We are particularly keen to hear from people living in and around the Medway towns areas.

Ideally we are looking for people that have some sailing or paddle sports experience or would like to learn. The ability to work with people from all walks of life, including those with speciaal eductional needs would be an advantage
Training and learning in sailing and paddle sports skills. The opportunity to volunteer alongside like minded people. Team activities and regular training days. The chance to volunteer with an organisation that has been awarded the Kings Award for Voluntary Service.
Committment will be different for each role. Instructor roles will be dependant on tide times and prevailing weather, and will be between April and October (usually). Trustee roles can be fitted around home life, with a formal trustee meeting oin a face to face basis, usualy held ever 2 to 3 months of an weekday evening for a period not exceeding 2 hours.

All roles are based from our centre at The Strand in Gillingham, but are home based, as we have no office space or internet connectivity at the Centre. The centre is open for pre booked sessions only, apart from a Thursday between 10.00 and 15.00, when our regular maintenance team are on site.
