Plan, organise and deliver events while ensuring volunteers are engaged, informed, and co-ordinated.
Responsibilities Event Management: Plan and deliver Whitstable Maritime events, including scheduling, logistics and on‑the‑day coordination. Volunteer Coordination: Brief and support volunteers, ensuring they have clear roles and a positive experience. Co-ordinate volunteer availability, event attendance and activity outcomes. Organisation & Planning: Ability to schedule events, manage logistics, and keep track of multiple moving parts. Communication: Confident, friendly communication with volunteers, partners, and the public. People Coordination: Motivating, briefing, and supporting volunteers of different ages and backgrounds. Teamwork: Working collaboratively with the charity’s trustees and other volunteers. Admin: Keeping simple records, managing sign‑ups, and sharing updates clearly. Community Engagement: A positive, approachable manner that helps build local involvement.
Practical Experience: Event planning, people coordination, and community engagement. Leadership Development: Confidence in leading teams, making decisions, and managing real‑world projects. Community Connection: A chance to play an active part in Whitstable’s maritime heritage and meet like‑minded local people.
