As a General Shop Support Volunteer, you will help the shop run day to day.
SE Kitchen is a Social Supermarket located in Ashford, Kent. Providing a wide range of affordable groceries to residents of Ashford; from fresh produce, chilled and frozen foods, to pantry goods, hygiene and household cleaning items. The small team of staff and much larger crew of wonderful volunteers, support SE Kitchen to open to the public from Monday – Saturday from 9am to 5pm. Your role will include: • assisting with the smooth running of the shop • helping receive and store stock deliveries • pricing items for sale • following specific shop processes • rotating and checking dates.

General Shop Support Volunteers will be keen to work as part of a team, to provide local residents with the best service possible. They will be friendly and approachable, have a positive attitude and be keen to help make a difference for our customers. Please note that the shop can often be very busy, but we do also experience regular quieter spells where we work as a smaller team – so please let us know if you have a preference. No specific skills or experience are required for this role, but the following are desirable: • Reliable, friendly, flexible, and supportive • A willingness to get stuck into practical shop tasks • Enthusiasm and an interest in helping the success of the shop
