Home-Start Sittingbourne & Sheppey’s volunteer mentors come from many different backgrounds and vary in age but all are either parents themselves or have parenting experience and are carefully selected for their friendliness and understanding.
Home-Start Sittingbourne & Sheppey’s volunteer mentors come from many different backgrounds and vary in age but all are either parents themselves or have parenting experience and are carefully selected for their friendliness and understanding. All volunteer mentors attend a induction course before being matched with a family (subject to references and an enhanced DBS check). They then take their own individual skills and experience to the families they visit. Our volunteer mentors offer their time and accept a parent for who they are.
