Role: Non Family Facing Volunteer

Partnership & Participation Team KCC

This role enables volunteers to contribute to Family Hubs in a range of ways.

Detailed Description

Administration · Supporting families to complete registration forms · Supporting business support staff in administrative tasks · Creating and updating notice boards · Supporting Business Support Staff with record keeping. Gardening · Maintaining or developing outside spaces, including planting, pruning, weeding, grass cutting Maintenance · Assist with setting up/putting away from events · Checking safety of resources and supporting with cleaning resources · Assembling flat-pack furniture, resources · Organising and clearing storage space Creative · Painting a mural · Supporting a session

Why these skills are required

Skills and knowledge All roles · Willing to undertake relevant training and follow KCC safeguarding procedures. Other skills will depend on the type of volunteering being undertaken but could include: · Good IT and computer skills · Experienced in using Excel or willingness to learn · Excellent attention to detail · Understanding of health and safety procedures including manual handling and COSHH.

Days of the week and hours: this role accommodates the needs of the families and the Family Hub’s operational activities so hours are variable, and we welcome discussion about this.
