Treasurer for local Grantmaking Foundation
Bedgebury Foundation is a small grantmaking charity which funds schools and charities in Kent and East Sussex. We are in a process of transition; with a new Director of Administration in post and a new Chair taking office from November 2025. As a result of the transition, we have identified some gaps in finance knowledge that would be filled by a Treasurer with strong financial skills. The Treasurer who will carry out all regular Trustee duties, but will also work alongside the Director of Administation (the sole member of staff) on some additional operational duties, which will take up to a day a month (in addition to Trustee duties) and include management of bank account users, authorisation of payments, preparation of budgets, financial reports and cashflows. Experience of education or additional learning needs would be beneficial, but not essential for this role.

We are looking for a Trustee with and accountancy qualification or with experience in investment management and/or general financial management.
Ultimately the Treasurer can expect to make a difference to young people across Kent and East Sussex who are struggling to engage with education. All Trustees contribute to grantmaking strategy looking for the best options to support young people. With finance expertise you will be guiding income generation through investments to maximise the amounts available for grant making.
