Volunteer Speaker
Medical Detection Dogs
We are looking for people who would like to help us spread the word about the life-saving work of our charity, by giving talks to local community groups. Join as an individual or if you know someone who would like to join in with you, sign up as a double-act! Presentation material, training and support will be provided. Our speakers are beyond valuable to us sharing the message of the charity, so please get in touch if this is something you would like to be part of!
Medical Detection Dogs trains dogs to detect the odour of human disease. Our team of Bio Detection Dogs detect diseases such as Cancer, Parkinson\s and COVID-19 and could provide fast, accurate and earlier and non-invasive diagnosis. We also have Medical Alert Assistance Dogs who warn clients with complex health conditions when they are about it have a potentially life-threatening episode so they can take the necessary action and stay safe and out of hospital. Our dogs are saving lives now and have the potential to save hundreds of thousands of lives in the future. But we need your help. Medical Detection Dogs need Volunteer Speakers to help promote awareness of the charity and raise funds to support and train our dogs. The role is an important one as often this is the first time that people will have heard about the charity. We will provide the training and materials to support you as a Speaker. We need to raise over £2.5 million a year, which amounts to around £5 per minute. We do this with the help of an amazing team of volunteers and we couldn't continue our work without them. Would you like to join the team?

Talking To Others, Basic IT skills - internet & email
If you feel confident to speak in front of a group of people or have experience in doing so, this could be the role for you.
This volunteering role is a chance to put your public speaking skills into action for a life-saving cause! It is rewarding as it will be for many, the first time they have heard of Medical Detection Dogs. If you are less experienced at public speaking, it is also a chance to develop these skills, and add to your CV. It is a chance to get out and interact with the local community.
You can offer as much or as little time as you like and can choose which talks you are happy to attend. Dates when Volunteers need to be available are provisional, and we welcome you to volunteer with Medical Detection Dogs for as long as it suits you.
