Youth Worker

YMCA West Kent

Volunteers needed to support the delivery of the youth service. Supporting the delivery of youth clubs across Tonbridge and Tunbridge wells for young people aged 8+. Be involved in the expansion of the current youth service, with an aim to deliver more sessions in different locations, reaching more young people.

Detailed Description

West Kent YMCA Youth Service is looking to recruit enthusiastic and passionate youth workers to support the growth of our programme. We are looking for individuals with drive and innovation to support the Youth Work Manager to develop and deliver effective programmes for children and young people across West Kent. We currently offer eight sessions operating five evenings per week at Showfields, Hadlow, Horsmonden and Tunbridge Wells. We are aiming to deliver to 13 sessions this year with other detached youth work venues used as required. Main duties & responsibilities • Deliver the aims and outcomes of the Project. • Support and empower young people involved in the Project. • Be the best possible role model for young people. • Take an active role in the planning and delivery of activities for children and young people. • Create opportunities for partnership working with other Young people focused organisations. • Supervise groups of young people, ensuring they are kept safe and free from danger. • Support the Youth Work Manager to grow and develop the youth service.

Why these skills are required

Volunteers will be expect to support the youth club delivery, supervising young people, participating in games and activities. Communication and team work are essential for the role.

Time Commitment

The minimum required commitment for this role is 2 hours to support with one session per week, with the potential to support the delivery of more.
