Working in partnership with Citizen’s Advice, Money Matters Project seeks to help those that are unemployed or experiencing high levels of debt. We want to provide a service to help those in debt to free themselves of debt and improve their well being.
Working in partnership with Citizen’s Advice, Money Matters Project seeks to help those that are unemployed or experiencing high levels of debt. We want to provide a service to help those in debt to free themselves of debt and improve their well being. • To support those in financial difficulty and struggling to manage their level of debt, with the support of the Money Matters Officer and Money Advisor. • Part of the role is for the mentors to accompany Clients to their financial planning meeting, and budget meeting. • Mentors can assist Clients in ensuring they make it to their debt management meetings at Citizen’s Advice and Folkestone Rainbow Centre and ensuring that the Client has the correct paperwork to facilitate the meeting. • To assist Clients with completing forms and contacting creditors, in reference to their chosen debt solution. • Notifying the Money Matters Officer to any safeguarding issues.

• Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail. • Compassionate and non-judgemental attitude is essential to this role. • Being able to supervise but not give financial guidance to the mentees. • Liaise with Clients and Money Matters Officer (Folkestone Rainbow Centre) and the Financial Advisor (Citizen’s Advice) to be able to fully support the Client. • Confidence when dealing with members of the public and able to communicate well with them. • Ability to build positive relationships with people, while being conscious of safe boundary setting. • IT literacy is essential for this role.
• You will be given general induction training, as well as a role specific induction (i.e. Safe-guarding training, lone-working training, Health and Safety training, Equality and Diversity training and Data protection and Confidentiality training). • You will be introduced to all staff and volunteers working on your chosen days. • Ongoing support and supervision will be given at the end of your trail period and yearly thereafter. Additional support and supervision can be offered or requested at any time.
• 2 Hours per week, spread over two days. • Dependent on how much time you can give and how many Clients you have under you Mentorship
