As a Home-Start volunteer, you will visit a family at home or support over the phone around two hours a week. During visits you’ll be helping the family to improve their parenting and life skills, and supporting them to prepare for future life challenges. You will also help to develop children's early learning through play, reading, games and fun activities. In addition to home visiting, there are opportunities to work in a group setting such as: Parent and toddler groups Specialist groups for dads and young parents Social activities such as beach and park trips
“My favourite part of working with Home-Start is the shared experience of parenting, supporting families through the highs and lows and celebrating in a child’s/family’s success with them. “ Kat, Home-Start Shepway Volunteer
