Individual volunteer supporter (Ashford)
Girlguiding Ashford Knoll.
support an individual that needs support to volunteer
As an 'individual volunteer supporter' you will be required to attend regular unit meetings to support a 'supported volunteer' to allow them to volunteer at a local Rainbow unit. You'll carry out your regular volunteering role, and give individual support to another volunteer. You'll help by making adjustments at meetings and events, and tailor your support to their needs to ensure everyone is as safe as possible. You will be part of the same rainbow unit as the volunteer you support, and will need to have completed a safe space to level 3 to demonstrate an understanding of the safeguarding requirements within the unit. You don’t need to have any previous experience of guiding to be a great fit for this role, just be patient, a good communicator and willing to develop a strong and supportive relationship with the 'supported volunteer'. This role is paired with a supported volunteer role, this is not a stand alone role.
