Kent Coast Volunteering

Visiting isolated and vulnerable people in their own homes to enable them to feel more engaged with the community. In addition, we provide a non-judgmental and confidential listening ear where needed. We try to match clients with like-minded befrienders.

Visiting lonely, isolated and potentially vulnerable older people in their own homes to enable them to feel more engaged with the community. In addition, we provide a non-judgmental and confidential listening ear where needed. We try to match clients with like-minded befrienders (i.e. similar hobbies and interests).

What skills are required for this role

Talking To Others, Listening

Why these skills are required

Reliable, friendly, honest people who are good listeners. Own vehicle or access to a vehicle is preferred but not essential. Will require a criminal record check (DBS) and will require two character references.
