Green Space and Environment Volunteer - Maidstone
Kent and Medway NHS & Social Care Partnership Trust
Help upkeep one of our greenspaces - enhance the environment with conservation and gardening activities to help support wildlife and plantlife.
We are looking for volunteers who would like to be part of the team that helps keep our wonderful Nature Recovery area in Maidstone a beautiful and relaxing space for staff and patients. Willow Gardens is part of our forensic mental health service and is used by staff and patients – for relaxing and also as a therapeutic environment. This space is newly created to attract wildlife and as a place for staff, patients, and family/carers to enjoy and reconnect with the natural world. It is also used by the therapy teams to conduct green space activities with patients. We need volunteers with a range of skills - there will be some conservation work (for wildlife and wild plants) as well as general gardening and maintenance to help maintain the area. Please be aware that you will be volunteering in an environment with mental health patients. You will need to be caring, understanding and non-judgemental.
