Befrienders

Detailed Description

We have a supported living service in Maidstone for young adults with a range of disabilities, and we are very keen to get some volunteers involved to befriend and support with activities within the home and within the community. We are ideally looking for volunteers between the ages of 21 and 40 who are kind, patient, understanding and fun to assist in helping our residents engage with and attend all sorts of activities and events. If you can drive (full license required) this would be really useful, as we have 4 residents with their own mobility cars. Fuel expenses are available if you were to use your own vehicle. But we are also looking for non-drivers. The people we support are all physically active and enjoy various activities. Examples are gardening, theme parks, swimming, gym classes, walks, reading. Going into town, cooking, animals etc. Availability for evenings and weekends would also be useful- so then this gives the residents the opportunity to go to the pub, discos etc.
