Repair Cafe Fixer/ Helper - Dover
Transition Dover [DD]
Volunteers with ability to fix broken items - electrical, clothing, ceramics, woodwork, bikes. Also general volunteers to help set up and run the events.
Dover Repair Café runs once a month in Biggin Hall, Dover. We need volunteers with fixing skills to mend broken items, saving them from ending up in the bin. Electrical skills are especially useful, as well as bicycle maintenance, woodwork/carpentry, sewing/clothes mending and ceramics repairs. We also need general volunteers to help with putting out tables and setting up the hall, greeting and making drinks for visitors, washing up and clearing away. No previous experience is necessary for this role and it could suit a young person as a Duke of Edinburgh voluntary activity.

Volunteers need to be competent at fixing items for members of the public. If this involves electrical fixing, they need to be able to verify their expertise - from a job/ qualification/referee. General volunteers need to have a willingness to get stuck in with various tasks, but no specific skills are needed.
Become a part of a friendly, supportive volunteer team. Help the environment by reducing waste. Help people of Dover by bringing valued items back into use or saving them money or helping them cut down their waste.
