Driver

Kent Association for the Blind

To collect between 1 and 3 clients and take them to a social club i and collect them and return them home after the group has finished.

Detailed Description

We require a driver to help us with one of our local groups that provides social activities for visually impaired people. We have a group which meets weekly on a Tuesday afternoon in Rochester and we currently have a waiting list of people who would like to attend but cannot as they are unable to access public transport and are unable to get to the venue. For this role you will need to be a car driver/owner. We pay for your mileage expenses at 40p per mile.

UK Driving Licence

Why these skills are required

Volunteers will need to be patient and aware of our service users needs. They will need to have a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

What is in it for you

This is a lovely position and you will get to know the service users that you are helping, for many they do not get the opportunity to socialise regularly so getting out once a fortnight is something they really look forward to. It is a very rewarding position.
