Befriending volunteers are needed to visit people in their own homes for a chat on a regular basis. We have vacancies across the Romney Marsh, Tenterden and surrounding rural areas and would be delighted to hear from you if you could spare an hour a week and can help. Any knowledge or experience of working with or supporting people with dementia is beneficial but not essential.

Our Befriending team matches clients and volunteers based on interests. No real skills are required except the ability to talk, listen and engage with others. Any knowledge or experience of working with or supporting people with dementia can be beneficial but not required.
Many of our volunteers say they get as much out of it as their client. We offer regular training, and opportunities to meet with other volunteers. We also hold volunteer thank you events.
